600 W Harmon Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89158

  • Best for kids because: Much less of a party atmosphere than some neighboring properties
  • Parent's night out options: Cocktails at VICE VERSA, Espa Spa
  • Family things to do: Swimming
  • What we like: Pets welcome, spacious rooms, no casino, delivery robots, nonsmoking
  • What we don't like: Little on-sight dining, no on-sight entertainment

Vdara is all suites! The décor focuses on modern comfort with some warm touches that wouldn’t be out of place in a chic boutique hotel. The delivery robots (yes, robots) are pure tech delight. Named Fetch and Jett, they’ll come right to your room with snacks and treats.

Things to do at Vdara

The rooftop pool complex offers stunning views of the Strip high above the hustle and bustle. Cabanas, loungers, and daybeds are available for rent. Choose from an Access Cabana or the more private Escape Cabanas that include use of a private plunge pool and a complimentary fruit plate.

The pool is open daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Vdara is more of a traditional hotel versus a full-blown resort, so on-sight entertainment options are limited. ARIA’s entertainment district Crystals is within easy walking distance, or you can take the family on the Las Vegas Monorail at the nearby MGM Station! Great for travelling in air-conditioned comfort while taking in everything the Strip has to offer.

Things to do near Vdara

O by Cirque du Soleil at Bellagio

O by Cirque du Soleil at Bellagio

There are always multiple Cirque du Soleil productions going on in Las Vegas, but "O" is unique because it is the only one where much of the activity takes place underwater. Yes, you read right: underwater! The international cast consists of world-class acrobats, synchronized swimmers, and divers. “O” has been running for years and still attracts sell-out crowds, a testament to its quality and endless ability to enchant.

The Volcano at Mirage

The Volcano at Mirage

This is a great free activity! Located on the Mirage’s Las Vegas Boulevard main entrance, the whole family will see fire, smoke, and lava erupt right on the Strip! The iconic explosion is set to a new soundtrack by Zakir Hussain and The Grateful Dead’s Mickey Hart.

The Volcano erupts daily at 8:00 PM, 9:00 PM, and 10:00 PM.

Fall of Atlantis at Caesars Palace

This free animatronic show brings the legendary City of Atlantis to life right in the heart of the premier Forum Shops! Bring the kids and watch them be enthralled by special effects, pyrotechnics, even a dragon! While some aspects may seem over-the-top for adults, we recommend embracing the silliness! After all, what’s Las Vegas without a little camp?

The show starts at the top of the hour every hour from 11 AM to 10 PM.

Child-Friendly Restaurants

Market Café

Part eatery, part gourmet grocery store, Market Café specializes in classic café favorites with a modern twist and the freshest ingredients. The full menu is served until 2:00 PM, including breakfast favorites like a ham & cheese omelet and French toast, and lunch options like a club sandwich. Not interested in sitting down for a meal? Visit the grocery section for some delicious treats!

Market Café is open daily from 6:00 AM to 12:00 AM.

Room service is available 24 hours a day. The on-sight Starbucks is open daily from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM. There are plenty of child-friendly, low- or caffeine-free options available at Starbucks: just ask the barista!

While Vdara doesn’t have a lot of on-sight dining options, ARIA is a quick walk away and has a plethora of dinner choices to please all ages. We recommend The Buffet, Five50 Pizza Bar, or Julian Serrano Tapas for something a little different.

Childcare at Vdara

Vdara does not offer on-sight childcare.

M Life Rewards Program

Vdara participates in MGM’s M Life Rewards program. Members earn points and perks with every dollar spent at participating properties.

Vdara Resort Fee

Vdara charges a $39 daily resort fee that covers internet access throughout the property, unlimited local and toll free calls, airline boarding pass printing, and notary service.

In Summary: Is Vdara Child-Friendly?

Vdara is great for more relaxed families in search of a more laid-back place to relax in the heart of the Strip’s fast-paced party style. The room sizes and amenities are desirable, but the lack of rollaway beds could pose an issue. If your budget allows for a suite-type resort, then Vdara definitely deserves your family’s consideration!
